Today, schools districts only focus on the practice of abstinence as being the only option to practice safer sex. Moreover, the curriculum is left out of the daily school schedule, and only subjective to heterosexual individuals. If you thought that wasn't shocking enough, Miami has an HIV rate four times higher than the national average. With communities such as the LGBTQ+ community, people of color, disabled, and much more, we need to ensure that everyone is getting the information they need in order to be aware and knowledgeable about this topic. Thusly, we want to specifically focus on providing teens with more informed about safer sex practices that are specialized for them. We plan to educate teens about STIs, HIV/AIDS facts, pregnancy prevention, sexual health, LGBTQ+ topics, and much more!
